Healthy Recipes for the Family:
Would you believe me if I told you that 1 out of every 5 breakfasts in this country is eaten at McDonalds?
Blew me away too.
In fact, more meals are now eaten in minivans than at kitchen tables.
But way back in 1900, only 2% of meals were eaten outside the home. Fast forward just a little over 100 years, and 50-70% of meals are not eaten at home.
There is, however, a laundry list of good news for those who make an effort to eat more meals at home – and it goes way beyond just your health.
More and more research is showing some shocking facts about making an effort to cook at home…
1: Children who have regular meals with their parents get better grades, have healthier relationships, and stay out of trouble.
2: Families who engage in regular dinners protect girls from bulimia, anorexia, and diet pills.
3: Kids who eat regular meals at home are 42% less likely to drink, 50% less likely to smoke cigarettes and 66% less likely to smoke pot when they are older.
4: Obesity among preschool-aged children in this country also decreases for families who eat meals at home without distractions.
VERY interesting stuff.
However, if you don’t RID your diet of the top 3 toxic ingredients “hidden” inside every kitchen NONE of this will make a difference.
So whether you have kids, or you don’t, make sure you eliminate:
– Sugar: Read all labels for sugars like fructose. They’re everywhere and “hidden” sugars are the number 1 additive responsible for the increase in obesity and diabetes…
– Over-the-Counter Dairy: Has been shown to remove minerals from your bones and make them more brittle. Limit dairy altogether and always buy organic or raw, directly from a local farm…
– Gluten: Responsible for bloating, inflammation, and weight gain…
All three of these over-consumed ingredients have also been linked to high blood pressure, swelling, heart disease, and the inability to concentrate.
Now at first, it may seem like the fix is easy.
Just eliminate these 3 ingredients. But what you’ll soon discover it’s a lot easier said than done.
Well, let me introduce you to Diana K…from Healthy Recipes
She uses ingredients inside all her delicious recipes that are gluten free, dairy free and refined sugar free – and most importantly free of High Fructose Corn Syrup.
She recently sent me a care package with her healthy recipes in the mail and O…M…G!
I just dare you to try her Chocolate Chip Paleo cookies, and tell me I am wrong!
I met Diana last year at our Toys for Tots charity event in Denver, and I was SUPER bummed that she didn’t make it this year for two reasons:
1: I wanted to eat more of her delicious healthy recipes (I love dunking her Chocolate Almond Bark into my almond butter late at night to cure my holiday sweet tooth. Yum.)
2: Last year she kept trying to feed Craig Ballantyne red wine (aka- trying to get him drunk 🙂 It was hilarious because Craig NEVER parties.
Anyhoo, make sure you check out Diana’s recipe website at:
