While Shaun Hadsall’s specialty is carb cycling, Vince Del Monte’s expertise is in helping “thin” guys put on bulk. He has 3 very simple ways to build muscle.
At 22 years old, Vince ate every meal with proportions of 30% fat, 30% protein and 40% carbs. Vince ate REAL food. Nothing fake about his meals! He suggests, that when you go grocery shopping, you need to stay around the perimeter of the grocery store. Eat like a hunter-gatherer would. Can you really envision a cave man eating Klondike bars? Have WHOLE foods to build muscle!
Men, if you have more than 10% body fat, (for the ladies who are reading along, your body fat should be no higher than 18-20% for the same rules to apply) you are fat. Sorry, but there is no real nice way to say it. You have more stored energy than you need. So consequently you don’t need to eat as many carbohydrates. If you have over 10% body fat then eat your low glycemic carbs 1 hour after OR 4 hours before your workout.
The third method to build muscle is about hormones. This is for both men and women:
Both genders have low testosterone levels. So how does one increase “T” levels? Eat more protein and more friendly fats. Eat things like coconut oil, nuts, healthy fats, fish oils, grass-fed, anti-biotic-free beef. Stay away from fried foods which are nothing but trans-fats. One of the worst things you can do for your heath is to eat french fries. NEWS FLASH: those are not friendly fats!! Good fats help boost “t” levels which build more muscle.
