Tart Cherries (The Benefits!)
Today’s tiny fruit is especially beneficial if you engage in high intensity exercise sessions on a weekly basis.
But even if you’re sedentary, pay close attention because this little fruit also has a ton of anti-inflammatory properties.
That’s why everybody should consider adding this to his or her weekly nutrition plan.
And whether you experience joint pain from aging or soreness from exercise, the typical protocol for most folks is to use anti-inflammatory, over-the-counter drugs like ibuprofen (Advil®) or naproxen (Aleve®).
These meds have been shown to wreak havoc on your digestive system and can damage your heart, your liver, and your kidneys.
Now you can probably see why drug companies don’t what you to know about the all-natural replacement from nature you can use instead.
The anthocyanins and phenols found in tart cherries have been shown to provide STRONG protection against muscle injury and damage.
So by eating a hefty dose of tart cherries you can help your body recover faster and reduce joint pain through the anti-inflammatory response.
In fact, according to Life-Extension Magazine, tart cherries deliver a high level of protection against cardiovascular disease, metabolic syndrome, and can even fight against Alzheimer’s.
And they cite over 74 “published” references to back it up.
Many of them validate tart cherries and tart cherry beverages that speed up recovery time from exercise and reduce inflammatory markers significantly.
With over 111 million prescriptions being issued yearly for anti-inflammatory drugs, government regulators simply do NOT want you to know that things like all-natural tart cherries can work BETTER.
But there’s more…on tart cherries
Tart cherries also contain a generous dose of naturally occurring melatonin (improves sleep) and they have one of the highest anti-oxidant scores of all fruits and vegetables.
Additionally, they have a glycemic index score of only 20 and they’re super low in sugar.
This means you could snack on tart cherries or consume small amounts of flash-pasteurized tart cherry juice any time of the day to get all the benefits without fat-storage.
I recommend consuming a cup or two of organic tart cherries after high intensity weight training sessions or long bouts of endurance exercise.
You could also have 4 to 8oz of organic tart cherry juice mixed in with 2 scoops of low temperature processed whey protein after exercise.
Just make sure your tart cherry juice is flash-pasteurized.
If it’s a traditional, over-the-counter cherry juice, it’s most likely processed and full of junk.
The juice industry loves to capitalize on trends like this by taking their sugar-laden beverage — adding a “small” amount of tart cherry juice and making you “think” it’s healthy when it’s not.
In the meantime, I wanted to introduce you to a new way of dieting I’ve been experimenting with that I am really diggin’!
This is one of the most intelligent nutrition approaches I’ve seen in a long time to losing stubborn fat.
It was developed by a physicist and the dude is like — “genius” smart.
Make sure you check it out here: Carb-Nite Solution
There’s solid science behind this approach and I really respect the fact the author “walks his talk” year round.
