Positive Thinking…Train Your Mind Intentionally
People who avoid training this muscle carry TWICE as much fat…The ONLY muscle you need to intentionally “bulk up”…
A positive thinking mind is a very powerful thing.
In fact, people who avoid working their mind-muscle can end up carrying TWICE as much fat.
Just like other muscles on your body, as long as you “feed” your mind and work it consistently, it will grow stronger and healthier.
If you ignore it, starve it, and avoid working it on a daily, ongoing basis your mind will atrophy (i.e. shrink).
But there’s one more unique thing about your mind.
It’s the ONLY muscle that doesn’t atrophy as you age…
…As long as you continue to use it.
We can even take this a step further and argue that stimulating and using your mind daily feeds and nourishes other areas of your life…JUST like exercise and nutrition.
Additionally, a strong mind will fuel high energy, intense workout sessions.
You’ll push yourself harder if you’re mentally strong.
Research also proves people who stay active as they age have better memory capacity, more blood flow to the brain, and less chance of getting brain related diseases.
So as long as you continue to exercise and stay active you’ll help fight against things like dementia and Alzheimer’s.
But this is only part of the equation.
Research also proves learning new things creates and builds new connections to your brain cells.
So this is another way to keep your brain from deteriorating as you age.
That’s why I always recommend, The Daily Ritual.
Here’s how it works.
Block off 30 to 60 minutes at least 5 days a week to escape ALL technology and interruptions of any kind.
I like using the dry sauna after my workouts for about 15 to 20 minutes, then moving to a quiet spot to finish off.
But you could use a park bench, a spot in nature, a quiet room in your home, sitting on the beach, whatever works.
In order for this exercise to stimulate your positive thinking mind properly:
1: You must be alone and avoid ALL interruptions.
2: Make sure to leave your smart phone on silent and out of the room. Try to avoid having technology of ANY kind with you (unless you’re using meditation audios or something else that “cultivates” your mind).
3: Avoid all computers, television, media and news outlets. Kind of obvious, but I’ve people do some really strange things.
4: Lastly, you must have an agenda and plan on what you’re going to do during this cultivation time to learn something new or stimulate your mind in some way.
Use this time to be all by yourself and “feed” your mind.
There are many strategies you can use during this time, but make sure to pick a method that personally matches your personality.
Lots of options here:
You can read a book, listen to an inspiring audio (again – the one exception to the technology rule), meditate, pray, breath, complete a crossword puzzle, or just simply focus
your thoughts on gratitude.
Whatever floats your boat.
I personally read my goal cards, pray about what I’m grateful for, watch my Mind Movie (info below) and do some reading.
Sometimes I also listen to meditation audios when other people are around so I don’t get interrupted.
Now I know what you might be thinking:
“I can’t afford to make time for this.”
My personal opinion is you can’t afford NOT to make time for this ritual.
Our world is loaded with interruptions, fast moving information, and too much technology.
ALL of this will make you go insane if you don’t get some “alone” time and feed your mind with positive energy and thoughts.
Always remember you become what you “think” about.
If all you do is live everyday life with interruptions, negative news, and media overload, your mind will shrink and you’ll manifest more negative into your life.
But if you consistently feed your mind with positive thoughts (or positive thinking), look over your goals, read an inspiring book, or just thank God for what he’s given you…
You’ll see the benefits carry over into every other area of your life in positive way.
Now I’ll be the first one to admit I slack on this frequently, but I still force myself to do it at least 4 or 5 days of the week.
In fact, there is a direct correlation between my productivity on days I do this vs. days I don’t. EVERY time (without exception) I get more done and feel more fulfilled throughout my everyday activities when I do this.
Remember, it’s not a “maybe” option. It’s an absolute guarantee that if you apply this technique – EVERY other area of your life will get better.
You’ll be more energetic, more focused, and you’ll get a helleva lot more accomplished on a day to day basis.
Plus, you won’t LOSE your mind. 🙂
If you’re one of those people who struggle being consistent with this type of stuff, or you just can’t wrap your arms around it, just use the tool below.
I’ve personally used this nearly every day for the past two years, and it’s had a tremendous impact on my life.
It’s not for everybody.
It’s only for people who want to automatically program and feed their mind for a leaner body and greater happiness.
And it only takes 3 minutes a day:
Keep going strong,
