THE Fastest Way To Reach Your Goals
My wife Karen just got back from Northern Michigan after a weekend of partying and fun with the girls.
I’m on a flight home from California (right now as I write this) from an intense weekend of coaching and masterminding with some of the world’s top fitness professionals.
Which ironically reminds us of the 2 most important, long-term staples for staying lean and fit.
- Rest and Recovery
- Coaching and Accountability
Karen took time off for recharging both her mental and physical battery. In fact, taking a break from structured nutrition and exercise is not only healthy to do a couple times a year, it’s required.
Time to relax with friends and taking a break from everyday hustle and bustle of our normal, healthy lifestyle is one of our secrets to staying fit all year round.
PLUS, we all screw up and party more than we should during the summer anyways…so why not just make it part of the plan? 🙂
And even though we promote shorter, more intense workouts for fat loss, rest and recovery between workouts is critical.
Remember that exercise is the just the stimuli. The results actually occur while you rest and nourish.
Which leads me to…
Lesson #1: NEVER work a body part that has any soreness or feels fatigued until you’ve fully recovered. ALWAYS take time off from your normal exercise and nutrition routine at least 2 or 3 times a year for long-term success.
Even more important, this is a great way to prevent the body from adapting.
We need to be constantly outsmarting the body. Recovery and taking time off is critical to this process.
Lesson #2: ALWAYS use a coach and some type of accountability.
Having a coach has been the single most important component for getting results in every area of our lives.
Fat loss, business, family, parenting, and spirituality are just a few examples of the areas in which we’ve used a mentor or hired a coach to be held accountable to guarantee results.
That’s why I just spent the weekend in Newport Beach, California to meet with my coach and other like-minded fitness professionals.
It holds me accountable to deliver the best possible products and services to our market place and provides a platform to grow, learn, and get results twice as fast as trying to do it on my own.
Now that the fun is over, Karen and I will jump right into a 3-week cycle of our brand new, ULTIMATE Metabolic Manipulation Fat Loss Cycle to hold each other accountable so we actually follow through with a long-term plan to guarantee our results.
Speaking of a long-term plan, we recently upgraded our Lean For Life Web-Based Coaching System with a Brand New Guide that lays out the science and meal plans of this ULTIMATE Fat Loss Cycle.

P.S. Remember….work hard/play hard.
And, there’s two ways to learn – mistakes and mentors.
