Blog video recap of Best Time to Exercise Part 1:
When is the best time to exercise?
- Morning in a “fasted state”
- If you’re a shift worker?: right after you wake up
When is the Best time to exercise? Part 2: If your schedule will not allow for the early morning “fasted” workout routine then the SECOND best time to exercise for maximum fat-burning is 3-4 hours after a meal.
This pre-workout meal should be low on starches and fruits, lean protein, (meat or whey protein powder shake), veggies and some good “fat.”
This type of a meal will ensure that you are getting top nutrition, so there is no muscle loss (or catabolism). After you’ve digested your “nutrients,” which takes about 3-4 hours, your insulin levels will be low (perfect fat-burning environment; it is IMPOSSIBLE to burn fat when insulin levels are high). Your adrenaline and growth hormones will be high and your leptin (#1 fat-burning hormone) will respond to hunger and full signals again. (a.k.a. leptin-reset)
