Water for Weight Loss?
Before we get to today’s TWO free “fat flush” water recipe, I want to stress a couple important points.
– This isn’t some miracle quick-fix that’s going to magically burn fat off your belly.
I know that should go without saying, but sometimes human nature leads us to believe differently.
– The very act of making this simple recipe 3 or 4 days of the week will promote overall better health and act as a catalyst to help all other metabolic processes operate more efficiently and effectively.
In other words, whether you make this easy fat-flush water recipe or not, drink your water.
Water For Weight Loss
Staying consistently hydrated with water will give every other area of your fitness plan the extra edge.
I know it may sound like a broken record, but so many people fail to stay adequately hydrated and then wonder why they’re not getting results.
So before you learn how to make “fat-flush” water here are a few reminders to help you understand how water can help you look and feel leaner.
1: First, the more water you “give” your body, the less it will hold onto. So if you feel like you’re holding water or bloated – drink MORE water.
It will help you look and feel leaner.
A good rule of thumb is to consume at least 50 – 60% of your total body weight in ounces of water daily. So if you weigh 150 pounds then you should be shooting for 75 to 100 ounces of water minimum.
2: It always helps to double your daily water intake the day after a cheat day or food bender.
Most folks simply underestimate how effective proper hydration can be for UNDOING the damage of over-eating, getting rid of post-weekend carb bloat and facilitating other
metabolic processes that burn fat.
Remember, if you cheated this past weekend you’ll be holding almost an extra 3 grams of water for every gram of carb you consumed.
So if you had a few slices of pizza, some bread and a bowl of ice cream, we’re talking an extra 700 to 1000 grams of water sitting under your belly skin.
That’s why you should stay OFF the scale for a few days and always have a water bottle near by for damage control.
If it’s out of site, it’s out of mind.
So here’s the recipe below by my friend Kim Lyons along with an additional detoxifying “bonus” water for weight loss recipe from my main man Mike Geary.
…But they’re both an awesome way to use your daily water consumption as a catalyst to improve your digestion, BOOST your energy, and manage blood sugar levels.
Water For Weight Loss Recipe #1
You can let this sit overnight so more of the healthy ingredients have soaked in during the night, or you can drink it right after making it.
If you’re not a fan of the bitter taste of the grapefruit, make sure you cut off the rind.
Kim Lyons, the creator of this concoction, recommends drinking at least 3 to 4 large cups per day (or more) for ten days straight to see if you notice a difference.
Ideally you want to drink a few glasses of this about a half hour before meals, but feel free to drink as much as you want throughout your day.
1: One gallon of filtered water
2: One large grapefruit peeled and sliced (great for blood sugar, loaded with vitamin C, which helps turn fat to fuel). If you can’t have grapefruit, replace it with lemons, which are awesome for balancing internal pH and keeping blood sugar at bay.
3: Two tangerines peeled and separated (another great fruit for managing insulin and blood sugar…you can use a large orange or two small oranges if tangerines are out of season).
4: Two small cucumbers or one big cucumber sliced (a great all-natural appetite suppressant and one of nature’s best diuretics to prevent “bloating”)
5: Handful of Fresh Mint Leaves (great for digestion and helps keep your stomach calm)
Add all ingredients into gallon / large pitcher of water, stir and enjoy.
