Exercise At Home
Readers always ask me this question…
“Shaun, if you were stranded on a desert island and could
only have one piece of equipment, what would you choose?”
I would typically say a set of dumbbells, but in reality the answer
really doesn’t matter.
In fact, equipment doesn’t matter.
Because as long as I have my bodyweight and an extensive collection of NO-equipment exercises and workouts, I could stay lean year round…if I exercise at home.
As long as I’m eating clean, of course 🙂
But here’s the bottom line.
It doesn’t matter where you are…you can exercise at home or a gym.
It doesn’t matter how much – or little – time you have…
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have the money for an expensive gym membership or if you have all the workout toys in the world.
All you need to exercise at home is your own body.
You don’t need long, boring cardio every day when you can see the same results – if not BETTER – in just 4 miraculous minutes of bodyweight exercise.
And you can skip the sit-ups and all the trendy ab exercises too.
According to a recent article in Men’s Health magazine, it takes more than 22,000 crunches to burn one pound of fat.
So obviously crunches are a HUGE waste of time…
Believe it or not, repetitive, loaded spinal flexion (situps, crunches, etc.) places excessive loads on the lower back and is one of the leading causes of herniated disks.
So STOP doing crunches and sit-ups.
They’re no fun anyway.
The leanest people I know (fitness models, local celebs, actors, bodybuilders) use a COMPLETE training approach.
What is a complete approach?
