Broccoli is usually the vegetable of choice. Because of the Vitamin K content I need to cut back on the amount consummed each week. Is there an alterative vegetable that I can substitute?

Very little is mentioned on fruit recommended on your daily food plan. What choices do we have and on which days can this be consumed (Carbs up, carbs in or baseline days).

Dry toast? Can we use some type of spread, such as sugerless jam?

Finally, constipation. Prunes help.

Howard,
What meds are you on that is concerning your vitK and potassium levels? Cumadin? You may eat broccoli just not every day. You may substitite asparagus, spinach, lettuce of all types except iceberg (no nutritional value in iceberg), cabbage, brussel sprouts, chard, fennel, kale, cucumbers, cauliflower. Rotate all of these so you are getting lots of minerals. Rememebr 2 cups of lettuce, a mixing bowl full --YES eat a salad that big, has 30 calories. Do not use cream based dressing. Use apple cider vinegar as your vinegar addition for fat burning power.

Keep in touch. You may want to look into ARG Matrix for men as an addition.

I am almost finished ready Wendy's book & have a few comments & questions:
History: I am 5'3" & 55 years young. I have never had to "diet" but have found that in the last 10 years or so, my middle has expanded. I tried Weight Watchers for 7 months & Dr. Cederquist's plan as well for the same amount of time. No results. I am a 2-time breast cancer survivor (1997 & 2004, both small).

I was a very strict vegetarian for almost 18 years. I now do eat fish & poultry. I am allergic to all forms of dairy. Can this plan work for me?

Much thanks,
Sue

My problem is I HATE cottage cheese. Yet they tell you to eat it in the first week. Is there anything I can substitute that with that you recommend?

I tried looking all over the web and I found that I could substatute greek yogert but I don't want to do that without consulting someone. Sorry!

So any suggestions?

Hopefully Food Coach Laura will reply but----if your problem is with the curd/ texture then you might try what I used to do when my kids were small. I pureed the cottage cheese and they used it for a dip for veggies. Maybe with some broccoli??? That IS hard to substitute during deplete week. Thank heavens you only have to do it once! I didn't have any trouble with any of the foods but sure wouldn't want to have to do it long term!

Good luck---hope FC Laura comes through for you.

Thanks! I might try dipping veggies in it. I do hope though that Laura has some suggestions too. Thank you MJofWA!

Hayley,

You may substitute any of the protein choices for cottage cheese. You never have to eat it . Wendy HATED cottage cheese and only included it in her list because so many other people enjoyed eating it. You may substitute any "chewing" protein or a protein shake. Just remember at least three "chewing" meals a day.

I love this diet! I am starting my 5th week and have lost 25lbs. I know that it will slow down as I have 30 lbs to go. I am so excited that something is finally working that I can actually follow. Thank you Wendy and your book. I am ordering the journal tomorrow even though the photocopies work fine. Just a little more incentive and I can share it with my friends that my success is encouraging..

OK Howard. Third time answering this. Prune juice is not the best choice. Try Smooth Move tea. May drink 2-3 times per week. Not two days in a row.

my husband is very over weight and unhealthy. body fat % very high. he has been a vego for the last 13 years and eats fish now. i am trying to get him to eat chicken, but if i cant, will he be able to manage this plan with just eggs and fish? we have started our plan today after reading the book.
cheers tracey

Yes he can just eat eggs and fish. He should start on Matrix for Men as well. He is very deficient in amino acids and his muscles structure is depleted. If he consumes L-Arginine at night on an empty stomach (Matrix for men) he will begin losing faster and more importantly support muscle growth. What is his blood type? How old is he? What is his height, weight and waist size? I can help mange yours and his expectations if I have the answers to those questions.

thanks for your response. i will get you those details asap but i have managed to get him to eat chicken now. but just a question about me? we have started our second week of the plan and at the end of the day i started feeling dizzy. didnt think much about it but when i woke early the next morn, dizzy spell was worse. couldnt do my womans boot camp and spent most day in bed. i still made sure i stuck with the foods we were to eat that day. spoke with my pt and he suggested maybe i had low blood sugar and was maybe experiencing a detox effect? he suggested maybe a little fruit and maybe sip a gatorade over an hour. I am 41, about 166cms and weight about 61kgs. i am mainly doing this plan because i want to reduce my body fat, and to support my husbands weight loss. i dont want to loose any more weight. i train 5 times a week as well as some brisk walking so fitness levels pretty good. have been excercising and following my pt's eating plans for the last 6 months. i really enjoy this plan and want to continue, but want to get rid of the dizzies! i take a multi, l-carnitine, vit c and lecithin too. so what do you think? cheers tracey

27 March 2010- Hi, I ordered the book(Cracking the Fat loss code) from a local bookshop, they promised to import the book for me to South Africa.
To get the book will take about 6 weeks (another 5 weeks to go!). I am very impatient to start the eating plan.I just have a feeling it will work for me.
Is there any way to get info on the eating plan, other than the book...just to get started!!!
Thanks
M

My husband and I have both of Wendy's books and have been following the Conquer the Fat Loss Code now for 5 weeks. We are really in week 6 as we did the deplete week from the Crack the Fat Loss Code book. I just signed up for the bootcamp to get further help as we both still have 50 more pounds to loose. I have currently lost 14 and my husband has lost 12. Will the bootcamp program help us? After reviewing the program online it looks like we need to start over. Is this what we should be doing?

Tracey,

Please be sure to consume 1/2 your body weight in water. Dizziness is usually a sign of detoxing and dehydration. Gatorade is not the best choice. Too much sugar. Get Boresha Fruit flavored Green tea. Burns fats and supports weight loss brain chemistry and Matrix will help with your neurotransmitter support immune system support and balancing of the potassium and detx.

Let me know how you are doing.

Hi,
I have been following "Conquer" since 2 Nov and have lost 53 pounds so far. Yay! Only problem is I still need to lose about 50 pounds. History: I'm 58, 5' 4", weighed 227 when I started. Like a lot of you After completing the 8 wks, I wondered where to go from there. Since we don't have to go through deplete each time I started with grapefruit (MIC) and went from there. Read Shawns message about depleting a week after the holidays and went through that which kind of boost started loss again. My problem is that I don't really seem to lose unless on deplete or MAC. Wendy said not to stay on MAC more than the three weeks so that is discouraging. Also, I may be super sensitive to carbs but when I have Saturday "cheat" day, I gain 3-4 pounds. It's like lose 5 pounds on MAC, cheat day, gain 4, Mac, lose 5, cheat day, gain 3, etc. I have been following the diet plans closely and exercising. So has anyone got any ideas where I am going wrong? I'm tempted to just skip cheat day and see what happens.

cheryls - it sounds like you're doing great to me! Day-to-day weigh loss or gains are not the real story---your overall loss of 50+ pounds has got to mean that you're going in the right direction and doing a lot of things right. I have been following CRACK rather than conquer but have very similar results to yours --age 56, 5'7'", 226 lbs to start on Oct 19th 2009 and I have lost 52 pounds. I am very happy with this and feel that if the fat was coming off any faster I would probably have a big(ger) problem with loose skin.

Remember what Wendy says about your body adjusting to your eating---cheat days are essential to keep your body from thinking it must store fat since you are starving it of carbs. So look at the big picture---you're doing great!!! I say keep doing what is working.

Is there any "Protein bars" out there that we can have?? sometimes i just don't have time to whip something up for snack time..
Re: Food choices

No all of them have soy isolate YUcK YucK. How hard it is to grab a ghard boiled egg. or 2 slices of turkey or a spoonful of tunafish?

Take the time to make a bunch of stuff ahead offtime so when you are crunched for time (me, every day!) you cab grab and go. Even 7-11 stores carry hard bolied eggs.

Hi, I am in week 2,Thursday. It is going well,no real cravings. I start to experience hunger more often before meals, otherwise I just get restless, then I know it's time to eat again.
I don't weigh myself, I am to scared to sabotage my motivation, with weight gain.( I last weighed before starting the eating plan).I will weigh again after 8 weeks.Hopefully it will be good news.I do measure my middle.(I am down from 88cm to 83 cm)
In the mean time I feel great, focused and my clothes are fitting better.
Thanks for the forum ,it helps a lot!

I'm confused about the Beach Body - Bathing Suit Blueprint Meal plan that I downloaded.
In all the days menus there is almonds, almonds and almonds. Yet on page 8, first paragraph, it says in bold letters "no nuts or peanut butter unless you're already lean). So, I'm not lean, what do I do?

I lost 90 lbs doing low-carb when nothing else would work. I kept it off for a year but then went back to college at 54 years young and lots of stress, gained back 50. I like the look of this program because it has veggies and some fruit. Don't know if you're familiar with "Kimkins" but there is so much controversy with the site now the program scares me. But it is all I know and it's unhealthy. Please help me.

Looking forward to seeing video of some exercise and find out what the "12 " is???

Nana

Nuts are a fat and may be eaten on the days and combos as outlined. There can be quite a bit of confusion. Any chance you can call me so I can really get your goals in place.

Low carb is not good for you in the long run. Normally you can it ALL back and more. You must add the carbs outlined in the book and only use those carbs. Don't add chips, regular bread, nachos or any other trash carbs.

Get your metabolism up first, then add cheat foods. Keep i t clean.

In Crack, Ezekeil bread was not allowed right away. In Conquer it is on carb down days. The carb allowances seem higher in Conquer. just starting back and decided to do Conquer. Is the bread OK. Susan

I am confused about what foods you can have. Pork and lamb are never mentioned, are they allowed?
