Stop Dieting – Start Living
A New Year’s Message From Wendy Chant
Well, another new year has come and gone and, with it, we all likely made – and broke – more than a few resolutions on the way to spring. One of those resolutions, probably the most popular one, in fact, was to “go on a diet.” If you’ve already broken your resolution to go on a diet this year, you’re not alone.
At any given time, according to the Calorie Control Council, 33 percent of Americans – some 71 million people – are on a diet. According to the Institute of Medicine, they spend more than $40 billion a year on weight reduction products. Yet, nine out of ten people who lose weight by dieting gain it all back within a year.
Why are so many people failing on their diets? Most people fail to lose weight in this fast-paced, confusing climate of “over information” because so many programs offered today are impractical, costly and too difficult to sustain.
Did you know that 66 % of American adults are considered “overweight?” This trend grows steadily every year because conventional dieting methods simply don’t work. In fact, rather than losing weight, the average American continues to gain 1 to 2 pounds a year according to the American Heart Association.
Books, diets, talk show health gurus, websites, infomercials – clearly, there is no lack of diet and weight loss information out there for you to choose from. But which is the best choice for you? And, when you make it, will your diet book of choice contain all the parts of the code that can last a lifetime?
Of course, there will always be the gold standard for diet books, titles like Atkins, South Beach, Sugar Busters and Body for Life. These perennial bestsellers have managed to capture the public’s attention – and stayed there – thanks in large part to the fact that each contains some piece of the Fat Loss puzzle. As such they often work to create Fat Loss in the short-term, but how long do they last? Chances are – not very long.
This year I want you to take a resolution “do over.” That’s right; no matter where you live or what month it is or what season of the year we’re in, it’s never too late to resolve to stop dieting forever. That’s right; the author of a new health book just told you to stop dieting.
Why? The reason is simple: diets don’t work. They are short-term fixes to long-term problems. After all, you didn’t gain the weight overnight, why should we think we can get rid of it that quickly. Instead of resolving to diet this year, resolve to live; live a healthy, hopeful, happy life that isn’t restricted by calories, carbs or crash diets.

Pledge to lose the fat realistically and practically, and give yourself the time to take it off – and keep it off – effectively. Forget “crashing,” “dropping” this or expecting “instant” that; lasting, permanent change takes time. I always say that we shouldn’t expect to cash in on last year’s resolution until next year, so give yourself the gift of 365 days to achieve your goal.
After all, aren’t you worth it?

OK, WHEN is it that you are going to LET Wendy rest in peace?
Come on – Wendy passed away November 2009 – how is she greeting me with a New Year’s message (nearly the end of January 2010)???
Please – we need to have HONESTY associated with Crack/Conquer the Fat Code and GL-12. People are TRUSTING this program – you need to be truthful. When people find out that Wendy passed away it is devastating enough – but to “pretend” that she is still around – that is just wrong and you could do long term damage on people and their weight loss.
Personally, I feel we should stop using Wendy’s name as if she is alive, AND start to seriously transition everything purchased from Wendy into GL-12, so GL-12 can stand on it’s OWN FEET with credibility.
JMHO,
Kim ♥
I dont like the new program with all the supplements and all that. Most of the blogs I have been have all voiced negative comments about what Shaun is doing with Wendy’s program…the supplements and all that, making it much more expensive and complicated. I am glad I got the books and will not participate in the GL-12 program. I wish Wendy was still here. I’d love to purchase her dvd on the code but have been told that is no longer possible.
@Debra Strange
Just a suggestion-you might try amazon or one of the other on-line places to find Wendy’s dvd on the code. Would you be kind enough to tell me the title so I may also search? Thanks. Judy
@Kim
Hi Kim,
First of all, thanks for your feedback. It was Wendy’s wishes that we keep carrying on all her materials and messages. We’re not doing business as if she’s still alive or “pretending”. I’m just using her unreleased material to help people just as I PROMISED WENDY I WOULD. AGAIN, these were Wendy’s wishes!
Maybe we’ll start being more transparent about her death so people are more clear, but you’re truly missing the point. Get Lean In 12 IS Wendy’s materials and we carry a World Wide Global License to distribute all her materials. Our goal is to do it as ethically possible..to carry on her message and to help as many people as we can here in the US and globally.
Wendy chose GL-12 to carry on her message and she helped me create it. To leave her name out of our material would be AGAINST contractual obligations and AGAINST Wendy’s wishes…AND a dis-service to her family.
Lastly, to say that we could do long term damage is completely a false accusation. If anything, its the exact opposite. We transform peoples lives everyday and I’m proud of that.
Unfortunately, people tend to get very emotional when somebody passes away and most people don’t understand that Forever Fit is now GL-12 and its actually our duty and obligation to do what we promised Wendy we would do.
I understand your point of view and will try to make it clear that Wendy is no longer with us (God Bless her soul), we just don’t want to prevent people from getting the help they REALLY need. If we focus on Wendy being gone, people will have a tendency to look other places for their needs and we won’t be able to help them. Food for thought.
I promise we’ll work on this and I hope you understand we have a job to do and its almost impossible to make everybody happy.
Thanks again. God Bless!
Shaun
@Debra Strange
Hi Debra,
Thanks for posting, but I encourage you to get your facts straight first.
We only promote the same exact supplements Wendy promoted, so you’re statements are inaccurate. We provide them from the same exact company Wendy did, so they’re NOT more expensive! These are the EXACT supplements in Wendy’s books with a couple exceptions being left out because of Wendy’s passing.
I’M ALSO PROUD TO SAY WE HAVE ALMOST 400 MEMBERS IN OUR WEEKLY COACHING PROGRAM AND HAVE HAD OVER 30 TESTIMONIALS OF LIVES BEING TRANSFORMED IN ONLY 3 MONTHS!
These are the same members who are being provided with everything the books have PLUS what the books do NOT have, and that’s why they’re having so much success.
We designed the new program to be exactly what over 300 people told us they wanted after we surveyed the market.
Yes, there are a few blogs out there posting negative comments, and I’m proud of it! Were not going to conform to what they want. We are providing EXACTLY what Wendy wanted in the new program. After all, she helped me create it before she passed away.
If you say you don’t like the new program, I respect your opinion, but you are part of the minority. I know everybody would love Wendy to still be here and that’s probably why they question what GL-12 is doing. But people don’t realize this what Wendy wanted and its actually her creation too!
Lastly, we’re releasing the original DVD very soon along with all of her other on-line materials.
I sure hope we can help you in the future, but if not we completely understand. I just hope you realize there’s a LOT of misinformation out there and you can’t believe everything you here.
Thanks again for voicing your opinion and our sincerest apologies for any misunderstanding.
God Bless,
Shaun and The GL-12 Team
Judy, the book didn’t give a title. If you look in the back of the Crack book it talks about the dvd. I thought it would be great to have because the book is vague in some areas.
@Judy Gelfa nd
I just wanted to thank you guys for putting out such a great program. After reading the comments, I feel like people should know what a great program GL-12 is. I struggled following the books until I found Get Lean In 12. The books are great and all, but there are several discrepancies and GL-12 really helped me sort through the confusion. The other great thing about GL-12 is that it provides the cardio and the workouts. Something the books definitely need. I’ve finally been able to stay consistent for the first time ever! Thank you!
Okay, I will check this out in more depth.
After watching Wendy’s videos and seeing and feeling her passion for her program and what she created it is great to get some more of her wisdom and knowledge. I am sure that she would love for all of us to read her words over and over. I have missed seeing her in the videos not that you arn’t great in them Shawn. Seeing your wife in the exercise videos is nice too. The supplement comment above is rediculus as Wendy’s book mentions them from the beginning. To know that Shawn is showing us some excellent supplements we don’t have to do any worrying about quality is a great stress relief. (thanks Shawn)
I have struggled for over 30 years with my weight, been doing diets since I was 16. Once in my life I actually got to my goal, then proceeded to have two children, get divorced, change jobs – and started the roller coaster ride of gaining and losing, never quite reaching my goal again. I have never regained the whole 120# I originally lost, but have gotten withing 45# of it!! In the past couple of years, everything I have tried has come up lacking. I saw an article in a woman’s magazine about fixing a broken metabolism, and Wendy’s programs was one of the methods mentioned. I ordered the books and started on November 2, I have lost 18 pounds (my goals I had set for the first year!!), and gone down 3 inches in bust, hips, and thighs. I went to buy new jeans (Wendy’s suggested “jean test”), and ended up fitting into a size smaller than I had thought – what a motivator!!
I started with the books, and joined the online coaching. I do not see a conflict in the two. I have used the supplements from Wendy’s books, the initial investment takes a bit, but it has not been unreasonable. I like the plan because it is real foods, reasonable time requirements for exercise, basically something a full-time working, single mom can do for the rest of her life. I like the online videos, keeps the motivation going.
I like the keeping Wendy’s wishes known. Someone who touched so many lives in such a positive way should not be forgotten, to have such a legacy is a gift. For family and friends to know that a loved one’s life was so rich in purpose and seeing that payed forward by the people she touched, must be a comfort to them.
Nice site. I just had to post a comment here. I often check out other trainer’s sites to see what others are saying and promoting. I feel like you are a duplicate of myself and the words I use and how I talk with my clients. I too have helped a very large number of people change their lives through consistent training and proper nutrition. As I say, fad diets don’t work, but the previous does. For those reading this, this guy is correct with what he is educating people on.
I just wanted to say “Thanks” for all the positive comments and support. We’ve been busing our tail since we lost Wendy, and its been very difficult to keep up at times.
Sometimes, the negative stuff can really beat you up…even when were just trying authentically help people…so “thank you!”
These encouraging words is what keeps us moving forward and continues to motivate us to deliver a superior product and service that’s fun, different, flexible, convenient, and most importantly life-changing!
We promise to keep motivating, inspiring, and providing everybody with a life-long solution that’s totally different and unique!
God Bless,
Shaun
I haven’t been on the blogs in awhile, I’ve been sticking to the videos and information in the members site. I rarely comment but it really bothers me that Shaun and GL 12 seemed to have been taking a beating there for a bit. I had the pleasure of knowing Wendy and talking with her before she got so sick the last time. She was SUPER excited about meeting Shaun and working with him on GL-12. I truly believe that Wendy would be very happy and excited about the all the work and effort Shaun has put into this program. It’s a lifestyle.. you follow it.. it works. There’s nothing pretentious or malicious here at all.
Keep up the great work, Shaun and GL-12!
God Bless!
Shawn, Keep up the amazing work. My mom would have been very pleased. I know she trusted you and I hope others begin to know that.
I’m new to this site and have been reading all the comments. Whew! From the sounds of it, you all are keeping your heads and hearts above water, so don’t change what you are doing. I hear sincerity in the words that are being written and will be back to check in again.
I’ll be forwarding this program to my husband and see if he’s interested. Thanks.
