This is exactly what I needed to hear. I am 51 yrs. old and going trhough menopause. I spoke with my physician since I have been putting up the pounds and he said that there was nothing I could do. I am very discouraged because I have been following the plan and I keep gaing. Please show the primer days video soon.
Question? On your cheat day should you cheat only until 3:00pm ? is dinner part of the cheat day?

I know that you are suppose to eat 5-6 small meals aday. My question is this, I work in a job where you do not know when you will get to eat or how many hours you will go between meals. I do not have the ability to have food in the area that I work. There are some days that I don’t get home from work until 8pm and have not eaten since 10:30 in the morning. It seems like these meals are for people that can schedule their meals every 3-4 hours. I can not do that. I am a nurse who works in the cardiac cath lab and some of our cases can last 4-5 hours and then we go on to the next case. If there is anyway you can help me with meal plans that fit into my schedule would be appreciated.

Thanks for the video… I have heard of “cheat days” with various diets for several years. Unfortunately I am still fat… but you clarified the body’s response to the cheat day, why it works, hormonal issues, etc… wow. I never used the cheat day properly! Shaun, I just listened to your video. I was a former student of Wendy’s and moved from the area. Since I did not have access to Wendy any longer, and because of poor habits re-established, I gained back everything I had lost. I recently saw an article about Wendy’s program in the First magazine and became so excited, I began following the plan immediately with 8 pound weight loss in first week. I have plateaued and needed the reinforcement regarding the cheat day. Thanks so much.

Hello, I bought your new book Conquer the Fat Loss code–makes a lot of sense, but I am a vegeterian. What can I sub for the meat in your meals and still manage to stay on the program….also, I’m a K teacher, so no meals every 3 hours (impossible) so any suggestions would be appreciated. I did the program this past summer and did great. notice i said did. i really fell off the wagon, really bad. this is so strange, i told my husband that monday i am back on. went shopping to get all i need. i was debating if i should do the first week, i call the bad week,i turn on the computer and here you are, you just made up my mind to start from thr very beginning. the sad thing is i felt so good on this program and why i slipped is a puzzle to me.
i was in such a bad mood complaining now it is the hollidays and i can’t eat…. your video inspired me to jump back on.. so glad that your wife is feeling well. i read the book inside out , i call it my bible. i have the second book but did not get into it as i did the first. thank you to you and your wife for sharing your knowledge.

I love these small videos they help me alot. Widow mother of two and I have gone into mentopause as well. I need menu’s it is hard for me to put them together. Just starting the week 3.(MIC)Getting a bit frustrated because i’ve only lost 12 lbs. 10 of that was from my Deplete week. So, why so slow? Been following it and having my Cheat Or Carb up days. The very first time i did this about a year ago, i lost 16 lbs during the deplete(7 day diet). What can i do different to speed things along? I am exercising as well. Hope to hear back from you soon. I’m an 18 year old kid who lives in Sweden and used to be fat. No more! Now I’m in to fitness and health. I’ve never realy been running or anything, just going realy heavy with the strength training. And if I may say so myselfe, I look half way ripped.
Anyway, I LOVE your nutrition annd lifestyle videos. I’ve been looking for a guru to follow becouse my knowledge on that area are fairly slim. What seperates you from all of the others are the fact that you go into the siantific details about the stuff you talk about. I dont know if taht’s just me but it’s mabye something you could focus on.
For example, this cheat day… I wasent realy sure about it. I was one of the stubbern onse and thought “pff, why cheat? I’m gonna be 100% clean”! When you go into detail about it and explain about the “leptin levels” it all becomes clear. Mabye that’s just me I dont know.
Anyway, GREAT videos, if I could I would move to america and have you as my neighbour.
What I would like to see in the future is mabye a coupple of strenght training vieos.

To answer someone’s question about good carbs and bad carbs. Good carbs are fruits, vegetables, 100 percent whole grains like oatmeal,brown rice, Cream of Wheat, sweet potatos, beets, brussel sprouts, etc. Bad carbs would be cake, pie, doughnuts, sweets, etc. Hope this helps.
RE: Cheat Days. I read that one is to eat 5-7 micro meals a day. In the cheat day video, you refer to one’s 3 meals??? Which is which? Did I miss something about the meals being different in quantity on Cheat day?

I got it from the crack the fat-loss code book by wendy chant.
On macro-patterning days you will have 5 to 6 small meals daily, but on your cheat day you will have a couple small snacks early and then cheat for 2 or 3 meals later in the day. Just don’t binge or stuff too much. You can cheat and have extra calories to get the effect necessary, but if you stuff you can sabotage the effect.

I was wondering this same thing myself…………..3 meals on cheat days………4-5 the rest of the week??
You can refer again to the post above…but always try to get 5 meals a day (6 if you’re advanced) on your clean days….and ‘yes’ 3 or 4 meals on cheat day….ideally cheat the last 2 meals. Stay consistent and good luck!
I am 64 and have put on too much weight, diabetes runs in my family and need to watch my weight and exercise more. Just got started on ur plan and lost 2 lbs the first 2 days. Menopause and no HRT puts the belly fat on you overnight and my husband and I tried weight watchers and only lost a few lbs. I just purchased the book on cracking the weight loss code, it just makes good sense to me. I will keep trying and keep you posted, thanks for all the good info and am looking forward to the cheat day…….
Do you have any recepies available besides those in the book? I would really like to be more creative with the foods that are allowed each day.
Any suggestions? How about those that might be on the S. Beach diet?
I noticed that after my “Cheat Day”, I usually gain some weight, but it appears to be all water, since in another day or two of not cheating, I loose it again.
Does that make sense?
The last few minutes of the video were helpful. I have a question about the need to restrict water from 15 min before a cheat meal and 15 min after. Is it only water or does this also include alcohol, coffee, tea, etc? It would be great to get a direct answer to this question.

hey sean, thanks so much for this information on cheat. my mother and i were both trying to figure out what the heck we were going to eat, and trying to fit some alcohol in there too as a treat. i would love to know what would be an appropriate amount of wine with a cheat meal; i.e., 1-2-3 glasses, or how many vokda drinks (no juice with that), and if you can’t have water 15 minutes before or after, can you drink wine with your pizza or pasta 15 minutes before or after??? i’m on week 6, and i’ve had pizza every cheat night bascially, or pasta with a meatball or two and a roll. now, can you have a salad with o&v with your carb-up meal? also, if you aren’t exercising, you say to make the last meal of the day your carb-up, so can you have a protein shake on those days as your 4th meal?? it’s is kind of confusing just using the book, so would appreciate your answers!! and thanks for all of your helpful information!! thanks, wendy

Hi Bryan…thanks for your kind words…I’m glad I can help.
We don’t believe in ketosis…but we do manipulate carbs (big time) in our program. We start off with the “7 Day Diet” which turns your sugars “off”, then we teach you how to use GL-12 macro-patterning to keep your body burning fat and preventing ketosis.
Short term ketosis can be beneficial, but not without macro-pattering being a part of it. Without it, people just gain the weight back.

Shaun, I just received your response to my post, I’m no stranger to working out and health and fitness, and I’ve checked out alot of diet and exercise gurus, and I think you are by far the best!!!! Keep up the great work and thanks so much.
What do you know about the HCG diet? Is it good or bad?
I am on week 6 of the fat loss code & have a question. Dairy products other than cheese are not mentioned on any of the food lists. Are they allowed & if so what are the requirements.I know that full fat half & half is better than milk (just a 2 tablespoon serving size of course)in a cup of coffee, but is milk out of the question & cereal? The only ones mentioned are hot cereals!How about yogurt, I notice the sugar content can be high, what is too high? is ther a maximum amount of carbs and sugar allowed on baseline & carb up days? It says to stick to serving sizes & Zekiel bread serving size is 2 slices but sometimes it says to only have one, what is it one or two? One more question, does the time between meals have to be at least 3 hours what if it’s 2 1/2 or what if it’s a question of hunger? Thank you for this diet, I was one of the people that nothing else was working & I lost 12 lbs so far, I so want to continue but do have questions so please keep in contact. Just one more question are all the videos downloads from the computer or should I be expecting something in the mail? Thanks again!

Hi Karen,
Great questions.
First of all dairy should be limited to 1 or 2 servings a day especially for women. In fact, I recommend that some women eliminate dairy and wheat altogether. You can use a little more if your body will tolerate it and your getting good results, but treat milk, cheese, and yogurt like condiments NOT food sources. A final not on dairy…its NOT that good of a calcium source like the advertising and marketing tries to tell you. Stick with as many organic dairy choices as possible.
Use low sugar or light versions of yogurt and use them in your cottage cheese or oatmeal with protein powder like a condiment to help flavor things. Yogurt is really not a good protein or carb source and you can get plenty of calcium from other nutrient rich foods.
2nd question: You can have regular healthy low sugar cereal with skim milk on carb up or baseline days, but if you’re still trying to lose I recommend staying away from cereals. They’re processed, calorie condensed, and low in QUALITY protein. If you love them, save them for your cheat days as a substitute for something else.
3rd: If your goal is till to lose weight and burn fat…and your appetite is under control, just use one piece of Ezekiel. If you’re just maintaining you can add another slice if you would like.
4th: You can eat every 2 to 3 hours depending on appetite. I’m a huge believer in 6 meals a day. I personally eat every 2.5 hours and sometimes have 7 small meals in a day.

Thanks for getting back to me, I do however have another question! I notice a considerable difference between “crack the fat loss code ” & “conquer the fat loss code” I started with the first, do I use them in combination or should I finish the “crack T.F.L.C.” then start the other? There are some discrepencies like one tells you to eat salad & the other don’t? One has week 4-5-6 the same the other 6-8? Also I started the day after Thanksgiving which was a Friday, I know you said to start on a Monday but I didn’t want to wait, all other diets I started on a Monday so I wan’t to do things totally different this time & it works, so I believe that when I start week 7 I could just change it then cause everyday is a baseline except Sat. & Sun which works for me! Just what do I do with the last 3 days of my week 6, like I said I started on a Friday so that is when my week 7 begins, what should I do for that Friday, Saturday & Sunday? Deplete Friday, Carb up Saturday night (reward yourself for making it;-)and do a baseline day on Sunday.
Unfortunately there are a lot of editing discrepancies in the book (mostly do to lack of control from the publisher) that’s why Wendy and I created the weekly coaching videos, meal plans, and workout downloads. It combines both books and the last 3 months have a life-long maintenance plan along with some VERY powerful strategic fasting techniques.

Thank you for answering so quickly, I know it’s little confusing at least I’m confused, today is the last day of my week 6, if I do a deplete tomorrow then a carb up sat. & a baseline sunday then I have to do baseline for 6 days in a row then a cheat day on sat. & high carb on sunday & that makes a very long week 7!!!!! As a matte of fact I will be doing week 7& 8 for an extra 3 days!! Now you know why I’m confused? I did a baseline day today how should I do the next 14 days? As you can see I really don’t want to cheat, to top it all off I am leaving for Florida on Sunday for a week’s vacation!Thanks again for all your help hope I’m not being too much of a pest! This program has empowered me, I love it!
