This seems to be opposite of what Wendy said about eating all the small meals to keep our bodies burning? I am very confused I feel like the plan is changing every week.

  2. Mary Jo says:

Sorry to say, but I just don’t see this as the eating plan for me! I need to chew my food to feel satisfied and having 2 fasting days and 2 days of drinking shakes would leave me wanting. I did appreciate the H.I.R.T plan and will incorporate that.

  3. Shaun says:

    Hi Hellen,
YES! You actually should be eating all the small meals (5 to 6) to keep your body burning on everyday of this plan except the strategic fasting days. Nothing about the plan has changed at all.

This is just a new plan to follow because hundreds of people (possibly even thousands at this point) have requested more variety and simplicity along with a plan that has fruit, yogurt, and healthy nut butters like peanut butter…so this plan provides ALL of these things.

If Wendy’s plan is working and you’re not getting bored then KEEP following it! If it’s not broke, don’t fix it. :-)

We just know people want the fruits and they love to cheat, so this gives everybody the best of both worlds.

I have an entire vault of plans the Wendy left me to share globally before she passed away because she knew people wanted this stuff. That’s why we’re sharing it with you for *Free*.

I sure hope this helps. Sorry if we were not clear on the meal frequency. I just assume people know to be eating small meals every 3 to 4 hours. The fasting days are just an extremely healthy short term calorie deprivation to trick your body to burn fat while still enjoying summer.

    Best of luck!!

  4. Barb says:

I’ve actually been doing strategic fasting for awhile and I love it. When I first learned about it in Boot Camp, I was very, very skeptical because it’s so different than everything else we’ve been told. But, I had been doing macro-patterning for awhile and I got stuck at a certain weight and I had more to lose! So I figured I’d give fasting a try and sure enough, the pounds started slipping off again. I assume it worked well b/c it kept my body from adapting (like Wendy teaches us). I’ll admit, the first time or two was tough (I didn’t make it 24 hours the first couple of times and I still don’t now sometimes), but it’s really not that bad and starting it late in the day helps because I don’t go to bed hungry. Plus, I don’t have to worry about preparing meals all day….it’s actually nice to not worry about food sometimes….I also realized I was more emotionally attached to food than I thought…..it does seem weird, but I figured it doesn’t hurt to at least try it once…

  5. Mary says:

I am waiting until next week to start this plan. What confuses me is the fasting day until 8pm opn Thursday but it says on the bottom 1 fruit and 1 starch before 3pm. Could you clarify that.

Also on the shakes, how much peanut/nut butter?

One more thing. On Monday a fast day, it says zero starches or fruit – under 30 g of total carbs last meal of the day. Where do carbs come from except starches or fruit?

Thank you ahead of time for making this clear to me.

  6. tracey says:

I am confused now. Are we supposed to eat meals as well as the 5 shakes on the shake and fruit days? If that is the case, I could not possibly consume that much food in one day. Also, this is for 1 week, do we do this plan as a once off, and then go back to the maintenance plan and how often can we do this 7 day plan?

  7. Shaun says:

Hi Mary….that was a BIG booboo on our part…it should be the same as the Monday Strategic Fast…we’re going to update the download and charts above for everybody….THANK YOU! soooo much for pointing this out because it could really confuse people.

You can use whatever carbs you would like for the last meal after the fast….preferably from lower glycemic carbs like a yam or brown rice…or you could even use a grapefruit. It really doesn’t matter what type of carbs as long as they’re healthy. You’re body is just gonna “suck up” the carbs into your storage tank (muslce) as long as they’re healthy.

On the shake days…..its 5 total shakes for the day. (we’re going to edit and clarify this for everybody too!)

You can have the fruit on the side and “chew your fruits” or blend them into your shakes if you want.

Use 1 to 2 tablespoons of peanut or almond butter (or 1 to 2 grams of healthy fish…or flax oil instead) in your last 2 shakes (meals 4 and 5) on your “Shake/Fruit” days.

Karen and I have actually used the “strategic fasting” for months now and it helped get us “bathing suit ready” for Jamaica….It was our “little secret”.
Plus…our boot camp members have been raving about the convenience and simplicity of the fasting….BUT you must follow the exercise rules from the video above.

Please keep us posted on your progress and we wish you the best with this!!

Here’s to variety and flexibility while we get “lean for life!”

    Shaun

  8. Cherie says:

So on the fast days, do you eat a meal after the 24 hours are up? For example, on Monday night after 6:00 p.m.? If you are fasting on Thursday, how can you eat 1 starch and 1 fruit before 3:00 p.m.? Also, for how long can one stay on this particular program?

  9. Diane says:

I think it sounds great! At first I didn’t think I could do a fast but after thinking about it for a while, it won’t be so bad b/c you will actually be eating that evening–kind of a nice little trick there!

I’m going to try it and I will let you know how it goes. Another great way to shake things up!

    Thanks you guys!

  10. Diane says:

    Hello Again :)

I am going to give this plan a try, too. It does not seem too tough; I just hope I can get all of the different exercise plans down. I have lost 13 lbs. so far, but seem to be stuck. Hopefully this will get things moving again. I will post after my first week which I am going to start this Sunday. My motivation for this plan is that my best friend is going away for 3 weeks; I want her to notice an even bigger change by the time she gets back! Good luck, everyone :) .

    Blue Skies!

  11. Cherie….YES….you eat after the 24 hours are up at 6pm the following night. The Thursday directions we’re an editing mistake by our designers (and me :-) , you can refer to the comment above. We’re fixing it for everybody right now. Sorry about that.

This plan can be used from 3 to 8 weeks at a time. It’s a great break between Macro-Patterning cycles. It’s also a great Macro-Patterning PREP before the 7 Day diet.

Good luck with this…hope you like it as much as we do!
    Shaun

  12. Mary says:

Shaun, thank you so much for the clarification. I really appreciate it.

  13. Kimberly says:

so….when the 7 days are up, do you just start again and keep doing this for 3-8 weeks?

  14. Toni says:

Hi Shaun, On the Fast Days, what Amino Acids do you recommend?

    Thanks,

  15. @ Kimberly: YES! 3 or 4 weeks is ideal….8 weeks max for over achievers :-)

    @ Toni: Aminos….Here you go!

  16. Mary says:

lipotropics – you mentioned them in tape 7. Do they contain ephedera or ephedrin(spelling?)

  17. @ Mary: No stimulants (no ephedra/ephedrine or caffeine) in the Lipotropics…that’s why it’s so unique and safe for long term use. Real science and no hype :-)

You can grab em here: http://gl12.fitprostore.com/supplements/lipotropic-plus

Best of luck and have an awesome day!
    Shaun

  18. liza says:

your response to mary about updating and downloading new charts ? have you done this yet? I can’t wait to try this new plan but want to be absolutly sure to not make any mistakes.

  19. Toni says:

    Hi Shaun,

On Shake and Fruit days you recommend 20+ min of HIIT with a longer recovery time or Threshold.

What do you mean by Threshold?

For HIIT, how long should one sustain the High-Intensity part of the workout?

Wendy mentions the use of L-Carnitine or Liportopics in her book, when should we use them in our workouts (before/after) and do you recommend using them while on this particular program?

    Thank for help!

  20. Marie says:

    Hi Shaun,

On the strategic fast days you have listed under 30 grams of carbs for the last meal. I am confused about this because I thought you were not eating anything on these days. Please give me and example of something to eat of these days if I am suppose to wat anything. Also on Wen. do I go low carb except for two meals. Please give me an example of what I can eat until my cheat meal. For the HIIT workouts can I do Insanity on these days? Lastly how much should I lose in the seven day period?

I am really looking forward to getting the best results possible thanks in advance!

  21. Toni says:

Hi Shaun, on Wendy’s 7-Day diet, should I be working out? She dosen’t mention it anywhere in the mannual.

    Thanks
